My name is Elen Bezhen, and I am an artist working in the medium of oil painting.

My artistic education began at the classical academy in Moscow, where I studied the techniques of the Old Masters, their approach to multilayered painting, as well as the fundamentals of preparing paints, grounds, and mediums.

This experience shaped my understanding of the material and continues to inspire me to this day.
In my practice, I continue to work with traditional techniques, using grisaille and delicate glazes. For me, it is essential that paints possess depth, purity, and plasticity — qualities that bring out the full expressiveness of multilayered painting.

That is why I chose to work with SCHAAL | Handmade Artists Colors. Their paints are crafted by hand from carefully selected pigments and oils, without unnecessary additives, making them exceptionally pure and rich. Each color reflects a respect for tradition and a commitment to preserving the dignity of classical painting.
