An exceptionally deep, intense black (PBk7), made from nearly pure amorphous carbon. Cool, slightly blue in undertone, it differs clearly from the warmer Mars Black. In masstone it appears absolute; mixed with white it produces clean, cool greys. Ground in linseed and walnut oils for a smooth, slightly lean handling. Naturally slow-drying—best reserved for upper layers.

Un noir extrêmement profond et intense (PBk7), issu de carbone amorphe presque pur. Sa tonalité froide, légèrement bleutée, le distingue nettement du Noir de Mars plus chaud. En pleine pâte, il est absolu ; mélangé au blanc, il donne des gris froids et nets. Broyé dans un mélange d’huiles de lin et de noix pour une consistance fluide et légèrement maigre. Séchage naturellement lent — à réserver aux couches supérieures.
