One of the first pure inorganic violets ever made (PV16 — ammonium manganese pyrophosphate), introduced in 1866. Its warm, reddish-violet with a characteristic mineral dustiness is unlike anything else on the palette. Semi-transparent and non-toxic, it yields soft, powdery tints with white and elegant chromatic neutrals with earth colours.
